Description
Allen B. Reding, a 1960 graduate of Oklahoma State University (OSU), was born in 1932 and recalls his upbringing on a rural farm in El Reno, Oklahoma. He talks about his favorite pastimes, the first car his family had, and his favorite meals. Reding discusses memories of the Dust Bowl and his experience with "Okies" and migrant workers in search of relief from the Great Depression. He also discusses his upbringing as a Catholic and what that meant for him in a small town. Reding shares some of his experiences abroad during the Korean War and how he came to have a career in OSU's Student Union.
