Description
Angela Piehl, former art professor at Oklahoma State University (OSU), talks about growing up in the small town of Tomball, Texas and attending the University of Texas at Austin. She discusses what it was like to live in Austin as a college student during the 1990s and describes the art community in Austin as well as her involvement in community organizations like the Lesbian Avengers that advocated for LGBTQ rights. After attending graduate school at the University of Arizona, Piehl talks about how she eventually came to OSU in 2007 and reflects on her involvement in creating a queer faculty and staff organization as well as the ways society has gradually become more accepting and inclusive throughout her time in Oklahoma.
