Betty Dahms Lewis is a 1942 graduate of Oklahoma A&M College, now Oklahoma State University (OSU), with a degree in home economics. She talks about her childhood and learning how to cook, sew, and do other home-related activities at an early age. Lewis explains studying home economics and her path into the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service. She describes some of her work as an agent with women and youth, different programs she was responsible for, and how she had to keep up with the modern changes in this field. She comments on a few of the challenges of her job, learning to sew polyester, and life in retirement.
