Description
Brad Mirth, a 1985 graduate of Oklahoma State University with a degree in civil engineering, talks about his career with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. He discusses some of the steps the department is taking to support monarch butterfly conservation, such as altering mowing cycles and mowing areas in order to provide more habitat for the butterflies, especially during times of migration. He also describes his role in the roadside signage that designates patches of right-of way as monarch butterfly habitat and in the Monarch Waystation managed by the department.
