Description
Budd Fountain, a graduate of Fort Hays State University, discusses his long career with the Soil Conservation Service (SCS). He talks about his path into conservation, some of his favorite parts of the job, and various mentors he had. Fountain discusses the ways in which politics get involved with the practice of conservation and shares some insight into his management approach. He also recalls serving as the state conservationist for Oklahoma from 1987 through 1992.
