Description
Cassie Herndon experienced the walkout as a first-year teacher at Stillwater Junior High School. She participated in helping create data and social media outreach with the Oklahoma Teachers Facebook page. She dedicated herself to understand the workings of the Oklahoma legislation and continuously met with many legislators and study the various bills. She took on a leadership role and became a spokesperson during these meetings. She enjoyed these conversations and even realized that she had a natural disposition when talking with them about possible ways to fund education. This ultimately led to her desire to pursue education policy.
