Chris Madsen came to Oklahoma in 1876 and made the run of 1889. He tells of serving in the Marshals to protect settlers from Indian attacks. He tells of the beginning of the run of 1889 and how he proceeded to pick his homestead and also some of the facts about the founding of the town of El Reno and its government officials.
