Description
Clemonce Heard discusses his life growing up in New Orleans, Louisiana. He describes his relationship with his parents and sister and how he first took an interest in poetry. He talks about coming to Stillwater, Oklahoma, to complete a graduate degree at Oklahoma State University, and he articulates how incorporates his experiences with race into his poetry. He closes by reading one of his favorite poems that he wrote.
