Description
Concepcion Vivar Romero, a naturalized American citizen from Mexico, recalls her youth in Mexico and her stressful journey across the border into the United States in 1984 as an undocumented immigrant. She explains how she came to be in Oklahoma and talks about the work she has done in Dining Services at Oklahoma State University (OSU) since 1995. She discusses the Hispanic community, learning to speak English, being homesick, and notes the impact OSU has had on her life. This is part of the Latino Americans: 500 Years of History project.
