Description
Curtis Burns, lieutenant for the Oklahoma State University (OSU) Police Department, discusses his involvement on the OSU COVID-19 Incident Management Team (IMT) as a resource unit leader. He discusses the ways in which his own law enforcement training prepared him to serve on the IMT and the unique opportunity to work with students, staff, and faculty from across campus. Burns attributes the success of the IMT response to the willingness of team members to leave 'their egos at the door' and shares advice for increased emergency management and incident command system training for universities, law enforcement, and city governments.
