Dana Dews 03/1971

Dana Dews is a member of a pioneer Chickasha family. She was born in Chickasha in 1917 and was the granddaughter of Dr. Daniel Johnson, an '89er who kept an extensive diary of the whole account. She discusses her background, Dr. Daniel Johnson, doctors in the early days, the run of 1889 and how her grandfather prepared to go on it. Additionally, she talks about the supplies purchased, and all of his experiences during the run (as written by him in his diary).
