Description
Dennis Neill attended Oklahoma State University (OSU) from 1970 to 1974 and was active in the Residence Halls Association. He discusses his childhood growing up in Ponca City and his experience coming to Stillwater during the height of the Vietnam War. After graduating with a degree in political science, Neill talks about attending law school at University of Texas at Austin, during which he gradually felt more free to come out as a gay man. He would accept a job for a law firm in Tulsa in 1977, where he would work until he retired in 2018. Neill also describes his involvement with the Tulsa Oklahomans for Human Rights (now Oklahomans for Equality) and the opening of the Dennis R. Neill Equality Center in 2007.
