Douglas J. Banks earned a bachelors (1953) and a masters degree (1958) from Oklahoma State University (OSU) in agronomy. He shares memories of his childhood such as pulling cotton, playing Mumble Peg, being active in 4-H, suffering a head injury and losing his father. Banks discusses his time as a student at OSU, participating in ROTC, dating, different living arrangements and attending classes in various buildings. He talks about his time in Army aviation during the Korean War, pursuing his doctorate, and return to OSU as a faculty member. Bank also explains his peanut breeding research, demonstrates a square dance call, and recites a few poems he authored.
