Description
Eldon Goeringer’s great-grandparents (both maternal and paternal) came to America with thousands of other Germans from Russia, settling in the Bessie, Oklahoma, area. His great-grandparents and grandparents were farmers and educators, and established church communities. Eldon was born in Clinton, and grew up in the Bessie area, as well. He attended school in Burns Flat, and later came to Oklahoma State University to study diesel mechanics. He married, started a family of his own, and eventually went back to the family farm. Over the years, he has kept close ties to his family and its German heritage.
