Ernest Holloway 08/02/2011

Ernest Holloway was born September 12, 1930 in Boley, Oklahoma. He grew up in rural communities around Boley beginning with the community known as the Georgia Line. Holloway attended Boley High School, graduating fourth in his class in 1948. From Boley High School Holloway entered Langston University where he graduated in 1952 with a bachelor’s degree in Vocational Agriculture Education and a minor in science. His first permanent teaching position was at Boley High School where he was employed from 1952 to 1962. In 1963, Holloway accepted the position of Assistant Registrar at Langston University, beginning a long career there. After holding several positions at the university he was appointed President in 1979, a position he would hold until he retired in 2005.
