Forest Reece 04/26/2011

Reece met Henry Bellmon through an invitation to attend a Bellmon staff party in 1969. At this party he was introduced to Elizabeth "Liz" Morgan. Three months later Forest and Liz were married. From October 1969 through 1971 he was the administrative assistant for Congressman Bob Price. Early in 1972 Reece joined the Senate agriculture committee staff for the Republican members where he assisted in the drafting of the Rural Development Act of 1972. Following that, he accepted a position with a federal/state economic development agency. He worked closely with Bellmon on the 1973 Farm Bill and on livestock auction legislation.
