Frances Kissler 04/08/2011

Both sides of Frances Kissler's family are of the German-Russian lineage. Frances was born in Washita County, Oklahoma, and grew up near Weatherford. She attended Enterprise School for grades one through eight, and after graduating from Weatherford High School in 1941, she enrolled at Southwestern Oklahoma State University to study business. After a year of college, she moved to Washington, DC, where she stayed for three years working for the government in civil service. She came back to Oklahoma and went to work with American First Title and Trust Company. She has remained in Oklahoma and resides in Weatherford. In her interview, Frances remembers her German-Russian roots in relation to food, church, and family.
