Description
Gene Slocum joined the Marine Corps Reserve in 1950 prior to the start of the Korean War and was soon activated. He talks about his life prior to enlisting and about his various kinds of training he received in preparation of going to Korea. Slocum recalls many sights of war, civilians and children, and being wounded. He shares about his medical treatment, his mental state, and ways he has managed flashbacks and other effects of his war experience.
