George Fraley, born in 1941, discusses his time working in conservation in Rogers County, Oklahoma. He talks about the RAMP (Rural Abandoned Mines Program) and AML (Abandoned Mine Lands) program, the many dangers of abandoned mining pits, and his work with the state’s mining commission. Fraley also discusses the education efforts in conservation that he has spearheaded, including programs designed to teach school-age students about water and soil science. He also comments on his involvement with the Oklahoma Association of Conservation Districts and about life in a small town.
