Description
Jerry Medina is a proud Oklahoman resident whose family moved to Oklahoma from Mexico in the 1950s. Growing up, he recalls Tulsa's Latino community being rather small, with few families dispersed around the city. After graduating high school from Bishop Kelley, Jerry decided to attend the University of Oklahoma, where he graduated in 1979 earning a B.S. in Geology. He began his career as a geological draftsman in college before becoming a full-time self-employed petroleum geologist. He continues to be self-employed and is part of the history board of the Friends of the Multicultural Office at the Oklahoma History Center.
