Henrietta Hicks 04/06/2012

Henrietta Hicks was born in Chilesville, Oklahoma, in 1935. At the age of six she moved into Boley, Oklahoma, to live with an aunt, Maggie Ashley. She attended elementary school at Prairie Bell and in 1953 graduated from Boley High School. After studying at Langston University, Henrietta moved to California where she stayed for eight years. While there she married Gene Hicks in 1965, and later had a son. In 1972 they returned to Boley and have lived there since. She takes an active role in the business of the town of Boley, served as its judge, and is the town’s historian.
