Ida Fay Winters, a 1974 graduate of Northwestern State College with a degree in home economics education, worked in home demonstration and extension in Jackson County, Oklahoma, from 1974 to 2003. She talks about her childhood and explains her interest in 4-H and how that led to her education in home economics. Winters describes the work she did as a 4-H and home demonstration agent and discusses some specific memories. She mentions some of the challenges of this kind of work and some of the changes she has seen firsthand. She also talks about her retirement work with a local literacy program.
