Imogene Murray 03/28/2012

Imogene 'Imo' Murray was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1929, the seventh of nine children. He grew up around Stillwater, and graduated from Washington High School in 1949, where he played football and also started the school’s first Boy Scout troop. He then attended Langston University before returning to Stillwater and working for Ward Buick Dealers. During the 1960s, he was appointed by the mayor to serve on the first Stillwater Community Relations Committee and work with segregation issues in Stillwater, and he has since served on other community relations committees. In 2008 Imo was named a Dr. Martin Luther King Junior Outstanding Leader for the City of Stillwater.
