Description
J. L. Tucker was born at home three miles east of Hess, Oklahoma, on the North Fork of the Red River on January 19, 1924 to Wiley and Kate (Mayo) Tucker, the second of eight children. He attended school at Hess until the building was condemned, then transferred to Elmer. When that building was condemned, Southside country school was built. J. L. was in the first class to graduate high school from Southside in 1941.
