James Leake 'Sr.' 03/14/1970

James Leake tells of his father making the run and making a claim near Chandler, and their moving on the claim. He tells how early pioneers had to take care of themselves without any help from the welfare, etc. and how this developed an independent spirit, but how they helped each other in times of need. He tells of the Chandler Cyclone and of the rebuilding period. He tells of working on oil wells and most especially on the Davenport well. He also gives insight to the development of Oklahoma down through the years to what it is today.
