James and Joann Pickett, third-generation owners, discussed the history behind the Pickett Farms as well as the Pickett's Dairy Farm purchased in 1893 from an owner who had made the 1891 Land Run. In 1957, James and Joann purchased the farm from a family member, continuing the dairy business until the late 1990s. At the time of the interview the farm was producing alfalfa, Bermuda grass for hay, smaller grains, and beef cattle. Aside from specific aspects of the land and its history, James and Joann discussed the Pickett family history and memories made while living on the farm.
