Jamie Dunn graduated from Oklahoma A&M College (OAMC), now Oklahoma State University (OSU), in the 1930s with an associate's degree and describes her experiences as a student. She was encouraged to go to college by her mother who had also graduated from OAMC. Dunn details her mother enrolling in 1911 and the importance placed on education by her family. In 2010 the family included five generations of OSU graduates.
