Description
Jean Wilhelm recalls serving in the U.S. Naval Reserve united known as the Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service (WAVES) during World War II. She talks about her motivation for joining and goes through her time in the program, including her time on the Oklahoma A&M College which is now Oklahoma State University. Wilhelm speaks about the different places she was stationed and the role of women in the Navy at the time as well as her own position as a secretary.
