Jerry and Patsy Acton, fourth-generation owners of the Abraham H. and Melissa Acton Homestead claimed in the Land Run of 1889, discussed the history of the land and the family that settled it. Originally, the farm produced wheat, alfalfa, cotton, corn, oats, barley, rye, sorghums, cattle, and livestock. At the time of the interview the farm was producing cattle and Bermuda grass. Jerry recalled memories of growing up on the farm and expressed the deep connection the Acton family has had with the land.
