Dr. Jerry Gill, 1963 graduate of Oklahoma State University (OSU) and former associate director of High School and College Relations and president of the OSU Alumni Association, talks about his time as a high school football player in Lindsay where he won a state championship in B class. This success in football would allow him to receive a scholarship to OSU, and Dr. Gill discusses his decision to attend OSU and the challenges of balancing athletics, social life, and academics. He shares fond memories and rituals with his teammates and Coach Phil Cutchin on the football team. Dr. Gill notes some of his academic achievements including his job as a TA in history and discusses his journey through his thesis and dissertation to obtain his master's and PhD in history. He reflects on what makes OSU unique and its impact on students.
