Description
Jessica Martinez-Brooks is a lifelong resident of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Her family ties in Oklahoma City run deep, with her great-grandparents arriving from Mexico during the Mexican Revolution. Jessica through much hard work and dedication studied at The University of Oklahoma for Journalism, and as one of the first members in her family to pursue and graduate in higher education. She was the third Miss Hispanic OU in 1998, worked in the public relations department at Oklahoma City University before moving on to Oklahoma City Community College, where she helped launch community outreach and education in 2006. Jessica expanded non-credit education programs, including English as a second language and GED programs, and ran the largest adult learning center in Oklahoma. In 2021, she ran for the Oklahoma City Council and has won many awards for her continual community service to the OKC Latino community and population overall.
