Description
Joe Butts enlisted in the Marine Corp Reserve in 1948 and became part of the Korean War efforts in 1950. He discusses his time in Korea as an ammo bearer in a machine gun squad and his unit's various battle engagements, including the battle at Chosin Reservoir. Butts recalls the bitter cold, issues with c-rations, and casualties, both civilian and fellow soldiers. He also talks about survival and some sights of war that remain firmly stored in his memory.
