Description
Jon Beckloff's mother was an educator who walked in the 1990 walkouts and was active in her local union, the Bartlesville Education Association. Jon recalls how his mother worked hard to address a wage dispute as part of her work with the union back then. In the lead up to the 2018 walkouts, Jon describes how his position as nutritional services staff and his connections and relationships in the community afforded him the opportunity to understand what was about to happen and helped him to understand his role. Jon discusses how he came up with a way to feed students during the walkout, and why that was important to him.
