Katherine (Kathy) Christie worked on Henry Bellmon's first campaign for governor (1962) and remained close with his family through the years. She talks about how she first came to Oklahoma and how she became a part of Bellmon’s political efforts. She explains the various responsibilities she had during this campaign, including being a Bellmon Belle. Christie describes what Bellmon was like as a governor and a person and how much she enjoyed being around the Bellmon family. She discusses some specific, powerful memories she has of this time and how those helped shape her career. She also comments on her work after her time with the Bellmons.
