Dr. Katye Perry Bonner, a 1983 graduate of Oklahoma State University (OSU), describes her experience growing up in Oklahoma City and her decision to attend Bishop College in Dallas, earning a bacherlor's degree in elementary education. She talks about her teaching career in the Oklahoma City public schools, receiving a master's degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, and how she ultimately ended up receiving her PhD at OSU and joining the School of Education Studies as a faculty member. Perry Bonner reflects on some of the challenges she's observed for minority students and faculty on campus over the years as well as her involvement on a number of committees related to multicultural issues before retiring in 2014.
