Description
Kayse Shrum, a 1998 graduate of Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, recalls her high school days, earning a softball scholarship to a junior college; and deciding to enroll in medical school. She discusses her career path, being a working mother, and her approach to mentoring. Shrum talks about a few of the health issues in Oklahoma such as the shortage of rural health care professionals and opiod misuse. She also notes collaborative efforts that led to the first tribal medical school in the country.
