Kelli Rader, regional administrative director for the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) of District 3, talks about her experiences at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic including her and the OSDH's initial reaction to the disease before it came to the United States. She discusses the local responses and importance of health education with businesses and individuals throughout her region. Rader also mentions some of the important resources and communication used to better the situation in her district and celebratory moments such as the rollout of the vaccine. She points out the role many of the tribes in Oklahoma played in administering both the vaccine and other important heath resources. Rader also highlights what people should learn from this event and remember in the future, most notably the need to always have a good health infrastructure.
