Kevin Norton, a 1981 graduate of Oklahoma State University majoring in agronomy, discusses his childhood growing up in Anadarko, Oklahoma and his thirty-eight year career with the National Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). He describes the various positions he's held in the NRCS including Range Conservationist, State Conservationist in Louisiana, and currently Associate Chief for NRCS. He outlines a history of conservation programs in the United States since 1935 and discusses his participation on congressional agricultural committees working on the 2014 and 2018 Farm Bills. He also emphasizes the collaboration with agricultural producers and the work of field technicians and conservationists as the most important work of the NRCS.
