Kristi Self, a 2001 graduate of Oklahoma State University (OSU), talks about growing up in Stillwater, Oklahoma and struggling with being gay. She discusses her experience attending OSU, her involvement in the Native American Student Association, and reluctantly getting married after college to her ex-husband. After graduating with a degree in English, Self talks about her high school teaching and coaching career as well as eventually getting married to her wife. She describes her involvement as the faculty advisor for the Gender and Sexuality Alliance at Stillwater High School and the extensive work she continues to do to support LGBTQ+ students.
