Lanora Ray Owens 07/16/2011

Lanora Ray Owens was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1931 to Ruth and Ray Owens. She grew up primarily in the Oklahoma City area and also lived for a brief time in Cushing with relatives along with stops in other cities as her family found employment. At twelve, she lied about her age in order to accept a job at Robinson Brothers Drug Store, and has worked non-stop ever since. In this interview, Lanora recalls growing up in Oklahoma City in the 1930s, the struggles of the time, the layout of the city, attending Britton High School, and gives some background on her family history.
