Description
Wright, born in 1954, is a 1976 graduate of Oklahoma State University (OSU) with a degree in agronomy. He recalls experiences as a teenager that set him on the path to a long career with the Soil Conservation Service, now the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). He describes various positions he has held and talks about his work with the Deer Creek Conservation District in promoting conservation practices such as no-till. Wright discusses his role in the Women in Agriculture and Small Business event as well as his efforts in developing outdoor classrooms and other educational programs. He shares about his own property, his organic farming efforts, and his micro-climate canyon. Wright also reflects on the changes he has witnessed in NRCS and in stewardship of land in Oklahoma.
