Laura and Jamie Langley, high school teachers in Little Rock and Austin respectively, talk about their experiences with poetry and teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic. Jamie and Laura being mother and daughter also talk about their unique relationship getting to experience each other's poetry from a family perspective. As mother and daughter they also touch on how their relationship has affected each other's teaching and career path. The two also tackle larger issues such as government responses to the pandemic and the new civil rights movements surrounding the deaths of individuals such as George Floyd. They describe the impact of these events on their writing and in their classrooms.
