Leslie Stockel, a 1989 graduate of Oklahoma State University (OSU) with a degree in fire protection and safety engineering, talks about her experiences in the program and her career. She recalls being the first woman to live in the campus fire station while a student and describes her entrance into the safety profession at a paper mill. Stockel discusses her years of industry experience as a safety engineer, investigations as a state director for OSHA, and finally, teaching experiences as a clinical assistant professor in the fire protection and safety engineering program at OSU.
