Description
Maria Malave, an immigrant from Puerto Rico, has worked for Oklahoma State University (OSU) in the Student Union for over thirty years. She describes her childhood in Puerto Rico and moving to Stillwater, Oklahoma where her daughter was pursuing a doctorate in psychology. Malave, comments on her adjustment to living in an English speaking country and on the Hispanic community at OSU. She explains some her life philosophies, gives advice to students and others in the community, and encourages others to be nice to one another and to work hard. This is part of the Latino Americans: 500 Years of History project.
