Description
Melvena Heisch, a 1975 graduate of Oklahoma State University (OSU) with a master’s in Public History, recalls memories of her childhood on a farm in Reydon, Oklahoma. She talks about her path to OSU and about her forty-one-year career with the State Historic Preservation Office of Oklahoma. Heisch discusses a few of her favorite work projects such as Route 66. She also shares her experience of surviving the Murrah building bombing in 1995 and explains some of the ways she has helped in the preservation of the site.
