Description
Melvin Welch, a 1928 graduate of Oklahoma A&M College (OAMC), recalls his early childhood, deciding to attend OAMC, and choosing a major. He discusses his involvement with the Glee Club and the development of his remarkable tenor voice. Welch also talks about teaching vocational agriculture, helping to establish a Civilian Conservation Corps camp, and working for the USDA Soil Conservation Service. Further, Melvin shares his memory of being invited to sing the original Oklahoma state song during the 2007 Oklahoma Centennial Spectacular Celebration.
