Description
Nathan Young is a Delaware, Kiowa, and Pawnee Native American artist from Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and his work is as diverse as his heritage. He attended both Oklahoma State University and University of Oklahoma (OU) for a period of time, and after graduating from OU, he worked in Indian education for a time before receiving a Rockefeller Foundation Fellowship to work on filmmaking in New Mexico. Young discusses the transformative experience of being a part of Postcommodity, a Native art collective, and working to create a multi-media mythology of and for his Oklahoma Indian people. He also describes the importance of the Native American Church to his work.
