Pamela Strokes, associate director for clinical operations at University Health Services (UHS) at Oklahoma State University (OSU), talks about her involvement as a technical consultant on the OSU COVID-19 Incident Management Team (IMT). She describes the initial campus response to the COVID-19 Pandemic and the concerns for the safety and welfare of students who were unable to go home. Stokes also discusses her role in overseeing the transition of the Oklahoma Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory to include human diagnostic testing as well as the challenges of navigating the various incident teams across campus. She attributes the success of the IMT to the partnerships and expertise that existed on campus and describes her new appreciation for proactive planning, policies, and procedures to prepare for what might happen.
