Patricia Rayas-Duarte, professor at Oklahoma State University (OSU), recalls growing up in Mexico in a family of nine children. She talks about her experiences attending college in the United States and her fascination with the proteins found in grains, which led her to become a cereal chemist. She also discusses working in the Robert M. Kerr Food & Agricultural Products Center at Oklahoma State University and the research that she does there, as well as her extensive experience with volunteer work in developing countries.
