Description
Pearl and Leon Jarred, third and fourth-generation owners of the E.E. Birch Farm purchased in 1901, discussed the history of the land and the family that settled it. The farm originally produced cotton, corn, milk cows, and mules. At the time of the interview Pearl was living on the farm and wheat and cattle were being raised, in addition to guineas and a large garden. Pearl and her son, Leon, described the management of the farm and their plans for it to remain in the family for generations to come.
